For the past two days a lot of things changed about the golf…
First – i moved it to the garage… sadly it wasnt able to drive on its own and we had to tow it – no lights, no wipers (was raining OFC) and damn weak brakes…. i mean really bad considering half the way is down the steep hill, but… we moved it, then i removed the seats and most of the carpets, sound proofing and water.
Now it is safe in the garage getting dry… will take some pictures soon
Oh NOOOOOO!! The golf is flooded !! Panic!
Found about 3 inches of water in my golf 
all the carpets and soundproofing are soaked… I was almost crying crawling on my knees around the golf in the middle of the street pumping all the water out – had to remove some soundproofing, centre console some carpets. Luckily the floor is still there – no nasty holes and doesn’t look rotten or anything… i am going to strip the G to bare shell now
What was the reason ? Crap… lots of crap blocking one of the drainage holes and causing the water to go IN rather than OUT…
Anyway… felt the need of sharing – now the golf will also get some new interior parts by the looks of things.
The Ultimate Question I’ve been asked like a milion times… ‘Dude its not even a GTi’… ‘25?? Does IT drive?’…

You think YOU are smart because you drive a 4 years old Corsa or Astra. New = Awesome right?
You think YOU are right because 75% of the people in the UK also drive Corsas and Astras. Following the crowd = Cool true?.
Now tell me how many Golfs do you see every day ? 10? 15? 1? None? Exactly… You remember every single one of them – even the rusty piece of crap decaying by the wall. Why ? Because its unique…
Look at it… Funny at first… old fashioned… but the you realise – they will never make them like they used to – the shape, the interior… the shiny hubcaps… the retractable aerial… just as they were 20 years ago… happy times…
Well if you didn’t get it so far there is no point in me trying any longer… for you its just a car… for me its time travel… lifestyle… friendships and some of the best moments of my life – so please… if you are one of these people… keep your comments to yourself and go valet your 1.2 Corsa
If any of you out there has any advice please comment – any help will be useful.
With everything almost ready i am still stuck.
All i need to get a hold of now is a pertol tank from a golf mk1 GTi or GTD, rear beam – any condition will do (just need some bits), GTi brakes all around with all the parts required for swap, fuel lines (both metal and soft).
At least that is what i am hoping for – still a lot of parts, but if i didn’t miss anything should be a reasonably quick job.
Still need to clear garage of lots of rubbish before i start moving parts in… and for that i need to find a place for all this stuff that is in the garage now… endless circle.
The weather is shit anyway – no chance of even attempting anything without a garage… at least i polish my bits when bored at home 
Oh… and i need some steelies with tyres…. and a new battery
