Will it ever end? The more parts i buy for the engine swap… or for the golf in general, it turns out i need more and more… Looks like the pay rise i just got will go unnoticed for months/ years due to the amount of debt i’m in.

Well to sum it up… i still need like half of the golf, loads of time, loads of skill… and a garage :D

just finishe chatting to a friend of mine

turned out he has the complete wiring, ecu, injectors, pressure regulator and fuel rail Digi conversion set for my engine :)

price is nice too

Digifant ECU, wiring, green injectors and some other bits

fuel rail not pictured

I’ve been thinking… should i leave the 16V K-Jetronic or should i replace it with the G60s Digifant?? Should be much more fun with Digi on board.

All i need now is fuel rail, ECU, wiring, sensors and some more goodies…

Fun, fun, fun

well… a 500 mile drive in a company car… 10 hours of pure madness in a Ford Transit… from Huddersfield to Ipswich just to get the engine :)

Minty said – “You’re mad” when I told him where i came from :) … but my little VW golf is well worth it.

So… what is all the fuss about ??

The KR engine…  (1.8 16v or GTi 16v as some may call it) was introduced in the Mk2 GTi 16v model in 1985. It used a  K/KE-Jetronic multipoint injection system and produced 139PS without and 129 with the catalytic converter.

The one sitting in the garage now is a slightly ‘tweaked’ one… produces 155bhp… needs a new gearbox though. Actually needs a bit more to go in my Mk1… Still looking for more parts :)
